One of the oldest and most important things you are going to do in Minecraft is the oven. This will help you smelt the ore into ingots that can be used to craft tools and armor, or even cook food that will make it easier for you to survive. So let’s take a step by step look at how to make an oven in Minecraft in this tutorial!
How to make an oven in Minecraft
To craft an oven in Minecraft, you will need to gather wood, craft a crafting table, craft a pickaxe, and then mine stone to craft it! We will walk you step by step below.
Step 1: Gather a log of wood
Since we’re probably just starting out, we’ll have to collect a log of wood. It can be done by hitting a tree! Although this is a slow method, we can speed up the process in the future by creating an ax. However, at the moment we don’t need to do this, so just hit the trunk of the tree to collect wood.
You only need one log of wood for the crafting table, but you need to grab at least three or four as we’ll need them for later.
Step 2: Create wooden planks
Now that we have a wooden log, we’re going to have to make some wooden planks! Open your inventory and place the journal in the crafting area.
We get four planks of wood for every log we place in it, which is exactly what we need. Take these newly designed boards and place them in your inventory or toolbar.
Step 3: Create the build table
Keep this inventory open, as you’ll now want to place the four wood planks in each of the empty slots in the crafting area to create the crafting table.
Take the crafting table and place it in your toolbar (bottom bar on this menu)! Next, you’ll want to close your inventory, select the crafting table, and place it on the floor.
Step 4: Create sticks
If you haven’t turned all of your wood logs into planks, you can do it now. We’re going to need three sticks, so place two boards in your crafting table to create them like this:
Take the sticks and place them in your inventory.
Step 5: Create the wooden pickaxe
Place three planks of wood at the top of your crafting table window, then place two sticks on top of each other in the middle. If you do it as shown below, you will see a wooden pickaxe in the completed box!
Grab this pickaxe and place it in your toolbar for ease of use!
Step 6: Find the stone
Stone is everywhere! You can find it in caves, scattered throughout various formations, and if all else fails, you can dig in the dirt or sand to locate it. However, if you do decide to dig, make sure you don’t dig directly! This is the only rule in Minecraft that you have to follow because if you dig, you could fall into a hole or directly into lava! Once you’ve found yourself some stone, you’ll need to mine it with your new pickaxe and get eight pavers in total!
Step 7: Build the oven
Simply go back to your crafting table and place your eight pavers in a ring while leaving the center empty.
Now just take the oven out of the creation window and place it in your inventory!
You can use all kinds of things for fuel by placing it at the bottom of the furnace inventory. The most common thing to use is charcoal, charcoal or wood logs. You will find coal quite often while mining, which is worth scavenging for fuel or creating torches. Logs or wood planks will work for you if you haven’t had a chance to tap a lot of them!
